I will do whatever you say…

Have you ever heard the statement “I will do whatever you say..” in your team? It is a pessimistic statement which generally comes out from many reasons. Some of the reasons maybe:

  1.  That member had tried saying something earlier but consistently ignored
  2. That member is not interested in what he/she is doing or doing it half heartedly. His/her interest is something else but forced (due to may be circumstances) to do the things (work) not interested in.
  3. Passive approach of an individual who is trying to find the way to put ball in opposite court and try to avoid the work.
  4. Not happy with the way team head is leading the team.
  5. Not having good understanding of professionalism (generally most of the education institutes fails to teach this)

Answer might be simple but not the solution path. Here is what approach should be (one of the ways):

Listen -> Understand -> Learn -> Appreciate -> Educate -> Practice.

As it looks simple, a good effort required for each phase.
